UK-based printing company AYP Design & Print has opened for business in Newport Innovation Park (Ni.PARK) in Telford to provide sustainable packaging solutions for customers.

The park is being built in partnership with Harper Adams University to promote agri-tech enterprises, and Phase 1 of the Ni.PARK project has provided new industrial units on the site.

The firm’s Ni.PARK move will expand its services while also contributing to a cleaner earth.

AYP is situated alongside other agri-tech businesses on the site on the outskirts of Newport and is already working with them to develop a close-knit Ni.PARK community.

Harper Adams University student managing director Martin Hall said: “We’re really pleased with the move which is good news for our business and the direction we’re heading in.

“The new premises is a much larger space for us to operate in and one where we can grow our services – particularly the development of sustainable packages which are becoming increasingly popular as businesses look to reduce their carbon footprints and reduce waste.

“We want to work closely with all the businesses at Ni.PARK and support them in any way we can.

“This move has come at the right time for us and we are looking forward to the next stage of our journey.”

AYP has outgrown its facilities and is now looking at printing on heat sealed food pouches for a Telford food manufacturer to assist minimise waste.

The company also wants to participate in an agricultural initiative at Harper Adams University in Newport, which specialises in food development and agri-tech.
