ASR Group, a refiner and marketer of cane sugar, has rolled out a new improved recyclable and refillable easy baking tub with new features for its Domino Sugar and C&H Sugar brands.
The easy-baking tub is said to be a new packaging format for sugar that is more convenient for bakers and has sustainable benefits.
According to ASR Group, the latest reinvented packaging has 28% less plastic than the earlier round canister design. This minimises transportation emissions by 65% and has the option to include recycling instructions.
The baking tubs are now available in-store for both Domino Sugar and C&H Sugar across the US.
ASR Group said that the tubs can hold around eight cups of sugar, which can be scooped and levelled directly from the container to a mixing bowl. The tubs can also be refilled using Domino Sugar or C&H Sugar bags. The process thus increases the overall baking experience.
Additionally, the tub has a stackable design, click-to-close hinged and rectangular shape that makes the storage simple in the pantry area.
ASR Group brand management director Suzzette Arroyo said: “The in-store launch of the easy baking tub and expansion to brick-and-mortar accessibility demonstrates our commitment to increasing convenience for consumers.
“The easy baking tub was conceived with home bakers in mind to inspire baking love, and the flip-up lid and easy-to-scoop canister make in-home baking a breeze.”
The latest improved tub is expected to replace the previous round canister design. It will also support the efforts of the cane sugar marketer to reduce the product’s carbon footprint and offer more convenience for bakers.
ASR Group offers a full range of grocery, industrial, food service and speciality sweetener products.
The company has six sugar refineries, situated in New York, California, Maryland, Louisiana, Canada and Mexico. In Europe, the group has sugar refineries in the UK, Portugal and Italy.
Furthermore, ASR Group also farms sugarcane and owns sugar mills in Belize and Mexico.
