Ardagh Glass Packaging – North America (AGP – North America), a business segment of Ardagh Group, has joined forces with US-based craft brewery Kansas City Bier Company to supply glass beer bottles to the brewery.

The collaboration will connect the craft brewery with AGP – North America’s glass manufacturing facility in Pevely, Missouri.

It will help Kansas City Bier Company meet its commitment to source local products and implement sustainable practices into its operations.

Kansas City Bier Company will package its beer in 100% recyclable glass bottles that are manufactured in the US by AGP – North America.

Kansas City Bier Company digital and social media coordinator Katie Camlin said: “It is important to us to reduce our impact on the environment where possible.

“Glass bottles are both reusable and recyclable, and working with Ardagh, a domestic manufacturer, reduces shipping distances greatly.”

Last year, Kansas City Bier filled more than 2.6 million glass beer bottles, supplying German-style lagers and ales throughout Missouri and Kansas.

In 2021, the brewery diverted 25,515 pounds, or 12.75 tonnes, from the landfill by recycling glass bottles in purple bins provided by Ripple Glass, a US-based glass recycling solutions provider.

AGP – North America beer & beverage vice president Clint Gawart said: “Ardagh Glass Packaging enjoys partnering with craft brewers like Kansas City Bier that have a passion for glass bottles and sustainable practices.

“We’ve supplied the brewery for the past four years and are elated they continue to package all of their products in 12oz glass bottles designed and manufactured by Ardagh.”

In November last year, Ardagh Group agreed to purchase Consol Holdings, a glass packaging producer based in South Africa, for an equity value of $635m.
