FL Smithe Machine Co has acquired the assets of Montreal based manufacturer of narrow web flexo presses Aquaflex for an undisclosed sum.
Aquaflex manufactures printing and converting systems ranging from 10-26in wide for the tag and label, folding carton and flexible packaging markets. FL Smithe specializes in machines for the envelope manufacturing industry.
Edgar Smithe, president of FL Smithe, comments: “This transaction allows us to diversify into the label and flexible packaging markets. Aquaflex makes an excellent product that will complement our line nicely. We look forward to building upon both companies’ history.”
