Brewing major Anheuser-Busch will invest $170m to expand its Metal Container Corporation (MCC) facility in Jacksonville, in the US state of Florida.
The proposed expansion will ramp up Budweiser and Bud Light aluminum bottles production, while creating 75 new jobs.
Anheuser-Busch supply vice president Pete Kraemer said: "The growing demand for our Budweiser and Bud Light aluminum bottles has helped drive growth and development in Jacksonville."
The expansion is being backed by an incentive program in collaboration with the state of Florida and city of Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville facility will be the second MCC facility to produce the new aluminum bottles.
Metal Container Corporation Jacksonville plant manager Bryan Sullivan said: "Selecting Jacksonville as the next site for aluminum bottle production is a tremendous opportunity for our employees and local community as we increase production and add sustainable local jobs."
Anheuser-Busch’s subsidiary MCC operates seven facilities in the US. The unit produces cans and lids for major soft drink companies, including PepsiCo. and Monster Beverage.
Anheuser-Busch’s beers are said to have 46.4% share in the US beer market. The company operates 16 local breweries, 17 distributorships and 23 agricultural and packaging facilities across the country.
