Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP) has launched a new DairySeal line of packaging that has ClearCor, an advanced polyethylene terephthalate (PET) barrier.

With the launch of DairySeal, the ready-to-drink (RTD), nutritional, and dairy alternatives markets will now have more environmentally friendly packaging that can be used in all retail channels.

According to the firm, the ClearCor PET barrier technology is a concentrated capsulation in the preform’s centre with increased flexibility and resin possibilities.

This technique maintains the packaging’s ability to be recycled and improves the barrier’s overall efficacy.

The DairySeal series of packaging may be produced using up to 80% recyclable materials with the same taste and performance for the brands.

Amcor Rigid Packaging marketing & sales vice-president Greg Rosati said: “PET is the most recycled plastic in the world, with more than 1.8 billion pounds of used PET bottles and containers recovered in the US each year alone.

“With the development of our DairySeal line, we are able to offer PET packaging that helps improve sustainability for brands in the dairy alternatives, nutritional drinks, and ready-to-drink coffee space.

“In doing so, Amcor Rigid Packaging is bringing this packaging, and its significant environmental and commercial benefits, to market.”

Amcor said DairySeal keeps its physical integrity while being shipped, permits customisable design while still satisfying shelf requirements, and is made to increase overall consumer satisfaction.

Additional sizes and shapes are being planned to meet future stock demand for the DairySeal range, which is now offered in 8oz, 11oz, 12oz, and 14oz stock choices, the packaging firm said.
