Amcor Flexibles says it is the first flexible packaging company to be awarded the license to print the compostable logo on PLA film it is supplying for the fresh produce market in the UK and across Europe.

The PLA film produced from cornstarch is being used by Amcor Flexibles in its P-Plus range of tailored permeability films for modified atmosphere packaging.

The license has been granted by a partnership between the Composting Association, the UK’s membership organisation for promoting good practice in composting and the use of composted materials, and Din Certco – the certification organisation of DIN, the German institute for standardisation.
