Altana, a specialty chemicals group, has invested in Israel-based Velox to expand its digital printing technology portfolio.

Velox has developed an advanced digital technology for direct-to-shape packaging decoration on a range of materials at mass production speed and large series production.

The company develops and produces industrial-grade direct-to shape digital decoration solutions for the rigid container industry, including products such as tubes and cans.

Velox produces IDS 250 industrial-grade digital decorator for mass production of cylindrical containers. Its DTS-Inkjet technology is based on uniquely formulated inks and dedicated deposition architecture, which will help introduce a new approach to digital printing.

Velox has delivered the first solution to a global plastics tube manufacturer, as well as received multiple high-value orders from strategic customers in Europe and US.

The digital printing technology of Velox will intersect with multiple activities of the Altana in the areas of printing and packaging.
