Finnish Ahlstrom LabelPack Division, producer of specialty papers for flexible packaging and labelling and self-adhesive laminates, has announced a price increase of EUR100/tonne for all paper grades.
The manufacturing costs of specialty papers have increased dramatically over recent months and there are signs of more rises, says the company. This is attributed to rapidly increasing prices for energy, chemicals and pulp and growing transport costs are expected.
Ahlstrom’s price changes will be made in two steps. The prices of all shipments from 1 May onwards will go up by EUR50, with a similar increase the following month.
