Agr International, which provides a line of products and services for the quality assurance needs of the beverage and packaging industries, has opened a new packaging sales and service center in Mexico.
The new entity Agr Packaging Services, which is a subsidiary of Agr International (USA), will focus on the sales, parts supply, service and support operations for company’s equipment in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
Agr has opened a new center to meet the growing demand from the customers for its quality management and process control equipment.
Carlos Gonzalez and Marta de la Torre will manage the sales and associated activities in the new center. Gonzalez has vast knowledge in plastic production, specifically in container processing and package development.
Marta de la Torre is expertise in glass container production, quality management and PET bottle manufacturing.
Israel Hernandez will serve as head for the service and support operations. Hernandez, along with four service engineers, will take responsibility for all installation, service, support and training related to Agr products within the region.
Agr chief operating officer Robert Cowden said: “The opening of Agr Packaging Services will bring a number of benefits to customers in the region.
“These include the ability to respond to customer calls in a timely and cost-effective fashion via locally based service technicians, local language support, additional training resources and opportunities, and improved parts availability.”
Agr CEO Henry Dimmick, Jr said: “Service and support are critical parts of the value proposition that goes well beyond the initial purchase price. We have made it a priority to invest in our service network to ensure that our customers realize this value.”
In December 2017, Agr International's American Glass Research division opened a European testing laboratory in Delft, the Netherlands to serve glass manufacturing and beverage filling industries.
Featuring modern analysis and testing equipment, the new lab can be used to carry out a range of testing services, including performance testing of glass packaging.
