The new technology, which will be trademarked by Advance as BentLine Technology, will complement the firm’s existing 20 plus machines.

Advance Packaging said that the new investment in the process, which involves a Göpfert Ovation 8-Color Flexo Press and Bobst Mastercut 2.1 Platen Die Cutter, creates up to six new full time jobs at the facility.

Planned to be commissioned in second week of July this year, the BentLine technology is capable producing full eight color prints and up to 10,000 sheets per hour.

Additionally, the new technology, unlike other machines that randomly spot check production pieces, can individually inspect 100% of the output in order to ensure each piece is free of flaws.

Advance Packaging sales and marketing vice president Scott Wilcox said: “Our decision to grow our product line with the addition of the new BentLine technology will further distinguish us from our competition and allow us to remain the premier corrugated packaging flexo printer in United States.

“As the only company in the North America with this type of technology, we can serve clients on a national level while keeping manufacturing jobs here in Michigan.”

Separately, Advance Packaging said it has re-engineered the traditional method of inline direct printing and die cutting of corrugated board to increase the print quality for its customers to near lithographic caliber.

Wilcox said: “With the technology we have added, we are sitting in a great position to be able to match or provide comparable graphics utilizing direct print in comparison to litho and allow our customers to realize all the benefits of direct print.”

Advance Packaging is engaged in producing boxes, retail displays, and other corrugated board products for customers in industries.
