Serialization and traceability software specialist Adents said it will exhibit its latest solutions to secure the pharmaceutical supply chain at Interpack packaging trade fair.

The company’s pharmaceutical serialization software will secures supply chain and fights counterfeiting.

At the expo, which will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, the company plans to showcase two primary products, Adents Seriza and Adents Prodigi.

Each of the two software enable marketing authorisation holders (MAHs) and contract manufacturers (CMOs) to comply with laws and regulations on drug traceability.

The company claims that pharmaceutical companies and contract manufacturers use its solutions to gain speed and compliance with regulatory requirements. As the software is hardware agnostic, it is compatible with existing devices.

The software is also claimed to increase equipment efficiency and reduce production downtime risk. It is also a standardised solution and hence it can be quickly implemented and configured on a new line or at multiple production facilities.

Adents says that Seriza is a serialisation solution for drug production. It is advantageous due to its ease of implementation into pharma manufacturing and packaging operations and can help in maintaining high levels of overall equipment efficiency (OEE) for continued production.

Recently, Adents collaborated with Siemens to develop a new approach to the market for tracks and trace solutions, which includes integrating fully configurable software suite into full range of standard hardware.

Siemens LifeScience Business Development Hans Bijl said: “Pharma companies will have a multitude of complex issues to take into account when choosing a serialization solution: budget control, risk of productivity drops, variety of industrial equipment and tight implementation planning.

“The combined know-how and business insight of Siemens and Adents will provide drug manufacturers with a reliable and efficient hardware/software solution at competitive cost.”

Adents’ second software Prodigi has been developed in collaboration with Microsoft. Prodigi is a cloud platform for unique product identification (UPID) and track & trace, which amounts to using a powerful Level 4 traceability solution that can centrally manage all serialisation requirements of the pharma industry.

The software is supported by Microsoft’s cloud platform Azure and it claims to be the only solution providing comprehensive tools and applications for data analysis and processing.
