Next month’s ACPAC 2003 is a three-day event billed by organizer Data Transcripts as the first annual conference to directly focus on ‘active packaging’. To be held at Gatwick, in the UK, on June 10-12, the event will feature some 20 speakers from all aspects of the industry, including legislative, environment, academic and research institutions. It will inform delegates about the latest technologies and the opportunities for their adoption and exploitation – and how a forecast 22 per cent annual growth in a US$2 billion global marketplace will accommodate European preferences.

Delegates will also learn about the merits and demerits of the subject technology and its likely adoption by brand owners and consumers. An instructional session will allow interchange of opinions and experiences covering ‘What Every Food Processor needs to know about Active Packaging’.
