Versatility, consistent high quality print and fast product changeover were key to the world’s fifth largest vaccines company Chiron Vaccines’ selection of two Allen 50/30 Super Compact hot foil coders.

Supplied by the Thermo Electron Corporation, they are being used to overprint vital, variable information onto pre-printed labels and a variety of wax and plastic surfaces on syringes and vials.

Engineering team manager for the syringe and vial production lines Mike Buller says: “The coders’ key benefit is fast, simple product and data changeover and high print quality – it is always clear, accurate and precise.

“A hot foil coder is also better than the inkjet alternative for printing onto wax and plastic surfaces.”
