In the first ever Digital Proof Forum, held recently in Germany, the GMG ColorProof system for colour management help- ed two contenders score the highest points in a head to head test of digital proofing systems.
Over two days, six manufacturers, together with software suppliers, demonstrated the capabilities of their systems using a standard test form developed specifically for the event. The partici-pating companies includ ed: Agfa, Best, CGS, Creo, DuPont, Epson, Fuji Photo Film, GMG, Heidelberg, HP, Kodak Polychrome Graphics, Logo, Xerox and X-Rite.
A team of independent experts judged the Fuji Pictro Proof with Fujifilm RIP Server and GMG ColorProof as the best system, followed by the Creo Iris 4 Print with GMG ColorProof.
The event was organized by Bundesverband Druck & Medien and the European Colour Initiative at the Bergische University, in Wuppertal.
